Commission

Commission for a fellow over on FA of his char bending a lightning bolt. I STILL can't think of a title for this one.

And I am very aware of the lightning bolt placement. It is a pure coincidence. ...A horrible, horrible coincidence..

Euran

Commission for another fellow on FA! His western dragon character. I ended up doing a little more than I normally do for commission work on this one because he hit a soft spot of mine in requesting armor. I'm a sucker for armor. 8D

Vesuvius

Another commission for Vesper! He wanted another of his bat characters, Vesuvius. Once again, a total blast to draw. 8D

Magic Murder Arm

Once again, for our roleplaying group! This time it's a campaign we actually started. Set in a pulp fiction universe, in the style of Indiana Jones. This gal here is Olga, a russian prosthetic surgeon. 8D

Silvia Fretag

AGAIN. For a campaign! A ZOMBIE CAMPAIGN. Oh man this campaign is so much fun. We shoot zombies in the face and run them over with trucks.
Silvia is my sniper gal. The rifle she has is an M1 Gerrand. AKA, grandpa's rifle. ...I'm...still learning to draw guns.

Porking around with textures, this came up. I had a lot of fun trying out different textures. The horns I need to work on still, though, but that will be for another day.

The Bone Collector

'Nudder bust, of a creature I've created. I put no effort at all into the horns, and I am a little saddened by it. But, I am happy with the fur and the general look of the skull.

Doodles

Pages of doodles in my sketchbook. I recently started doodling in pens, because the idea that I can't erase makes me a little more cautious, yet loose. If that makes any sense.

Anyway, these are the bone collector minus it's mask, and another character from our pulp fiction campaign. He's German. 8D

I needs them.

I really want to bust back into Traditional media, because it seems I've been working an awful lot on digital stuff lately, and as much as I love my tablet, I do want to put my drafting table to good use and make sure that I'm keeping up to date with all my traditional stuff.

The problem is once I actually sit down to work I get flustered with what I should actually draw/paint. It's rather annoying, because I desperately want to create, and even more specifically I'd like to use my watercolors and my prismacolor markers, if only to get rid of the markers, but I need ideas before I can actually do that. =/ I don't want to waste the markers, per se, but in essence I want to use them as fast as possible to free up room to keep my colored pencils all nice and organized.

Maybe it's just the thought of school starting that's keeping me from being productive. I know I have been arting, but it's all digital, and so will the next few things I post. It isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong, I'd just like to not neglect all my art supplies.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm not in school that's keeping me from doing so. I know I wish I had another painting class, because that did make me paint and I enjoyed every minute of it, as much as I complained about the class. I'd like to paint more, and I'd really like to brush up on my watercolors, as I need a lot of practice there. ...I also need to finish the one painting I've had in progress for a year now. =/

Anyone has any concepts they'd like to throw at me I'll listen. I'm really wanting to do something a little different once I get these two commissions I have done, just so I don't feel so bad for neglecting my art supplies.

Let's hope once school starts up I'll have the free time to actually DO me art..

Commissioned picture for Vaimeron over on FA of his character Vesper dancing at the same rave as Wildcard.

His character was so much fun to draw. It had it's own challenges, like getting everything to fit nicely and flow naturally, but in the end I'm very pleased with this result, and he loved it!

Quicky doodle of my character concept for a possible Dark Heresy game my group may run in the near future. This is Aurora Anansi, my feral world Psyker.

I based her roughly off the voodoo lady from Pirates of the carribbean, at least as far as the manner of speech goes and the hair. 8D Because the idea of the phrase "Oh, child, life ain't no fun wit'out de cold hand a'Death lingerin' over ye shoulder" makes me giggle inside like a schoolgirl.

That's all the art for now! However I am going to try and rework my icons today. o: I need to.

My mom had surgery on her foot done early this morning. She's out of commission for a while so her foot can heal properly for once. I feel bad for her, even when she tries to take it easy and relax her work calls her for some simple thing that any idiot could understand, but they refuse to because she's not there.

I hope she'll at least get a few days off. She needs it, so badly. Her hair is starting to turn gray from the stress of my sister moving in, from me, and from life in general...so..hopefully she'll get a few days of much needed time off.

If you're the sort, pray for my mom.

Those Nights

Inspired by Skillet, who is the only thing on this planet that can make me homesick and wish to be around people I thought I'd gotten over. They make me remember the happy times over all the bad, and make me yearn for those nights all over again...and I pray, someday, they will.

Yellow Ribbons

Well...what can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic and oldies love songs are always so fitting. And yes, there really are 100 ribbons. I had others counting along with me to make sure I was right on. Also tried for a bit more cartoony style for this. Say a lot with a little, and I really do enjoy the outcome. Even with its mistakes, I love the mood.

True Angel

In one of my classes we were watching a video of a man storyboarding his idea for The Little Mermaid. It had SPACE ANGELS and SPACE MERMAIDS in it. ...Needless to say, I fell in love and had to do an interpretation of this idea, since you couldn't see his sketches very well from the back of the room. ...I like this idea, a lot, and I'm going to develop it more.

Scratchboard, how I miss you. ...Trying something OTHER than fur and feathers. It was fun! I ended up going back and trying to fix a few things on this, but i made it look worse! So I just left it as is and called this a very drawn out learning experience. :D

Scenery Speedpaints

London - Day durhur..

Er...SO, guess what!

Our last four days in London we stayed in a hotel that had no internet. 8D So I was totally unable to update you guys. I'm sorry!

But, I will try to summarize.

On Tuesday we went back to Westminster and actually went inside the church this time while my mother and co-worker had their meeting. I got scolded by the clergy for having my camera out. 8D (No photography was allowed) We also went to the Hard Rock cafe there, which was awesome, and tried to do some shopping. It was so freaking hot though that my mother couldn't walk for very long. We ended up heading back to the conference center and waiting outside under a tree for the others. It was kind of nice being able to SIT DOWN for once.

While the women folk did their thing inside, everyone else went to the London Eye to snap a few pictures. It was pretty crazy, but it was also SO HOT that I was ready to rip my hair out to keep it off my neck. x_x

Wednesday we loaded everything up and headed over to Copthorne, where we stayed for the remaining days. We..oh lawd, let's see...we rented a car, checked into the hotel, then immediately left for Stonehenge. We stayed there for a short while, then we headed over to Bath. :3 It's such an awesome town. Unfortunately we couldn't go into their abbey because the university was graduating its students all week so they were using the place. that was pretty cool on it's own, however.

We did visit a few places while in Bath, mainly just walking around trying to find gifts. We ended up heading into a tea shop that had some amazing things. We ended up buying like...ten boxes between three of us. XD And we asked the guy where we could go for lunch, so we ended up eating at this little tapas bar up the road, it was SO DELICIOUS. OH MAN. D8 You do not understand how awesome it was. Although...their sangria had a bit too much sprite in it for my tastes. Eh, oh well!

After Bath, we loaded into the car and headed over to Avebury to see those stones. This was only a quick pit stop as it was getting rather late in the evening and everyone was getting tired of walking everywhere. But Avebury was really awesome in that you could actually walk up and TOUCH the stones and sit on them and everything!

Thursday we went to Leeds castle. Oh man...I think I'm going to upload those pictures once I get them, because the grounds alone were GORGEOUS. They had rhubarb plants BIGGER THAN ME. And a GIANT cedar of Lebanon tree and willows everywhere and lakes and rivers and white and black swawns and a WHITE PEACOCK. O: And peacocks just wandering around! You could feed them from your hand! It was so beautiful...I would go back JUST to take in the scenery.

The castle itself wasn't really much. It was a modernized one, which was neat, but it didn't have the same feel as others. =/ Or maybe I'm just comparing it to Windsor castle, which is a huge mistake because Windsor is FUCKAWESOME.

After that we headed back to the hotel for the night, we pretty much stayed the day at Leeds.

Friday, on a tip from our waiter, we went to Brighton to do that last minute shopping. We were kind of leery about his directions at first, because we kind of came in on what looked like a bad area, but eventually we found what we were looking for, and...man. It was totally worth it. Dad and I found the shop we've been dreaming of.

In case you haven't gathered, my father collects swords. But not just any swords, the old ones, the real ones that have history and are worth a shitton. I've picked up on this fever, and would love to start my own, but without money, all I can do now is help him expand his collection.

BUT, we found this armory store, that was full of NOTHING BUT armor and weapons at least 300 years old. The guy had full suits of SAMURAI ARMOR and a VIKING SWORD FROM 1000 AD. And some things that were 3000 years old and swords and omg. ; 0; We had to leave the store at first because there was just so much to take in that my father couldn't decide what to get, because so many things were within our budget but so many other things weren't and just AAASH.

We, finally, ended up getting a Halbard that was roughly 150 years old. It was a replica, but there was just NO WAY we could afford the real deal, which was SEVEN HUNDERED years old. D8 Someday...some day..

In the end we ended up getting all our shopping done in Brighton. :3 And we headed back to the hotel to pack up and leave at asscrack o'clock.

The flight home Saturday was quiet and nice, but I was ready to go home. And so was everyone else.

When I got home I crashed so hard it wasn't even funny. I passed out in my bigass chair at like...8 and everyone finally told me to go to bed about two hours later, and then James called and now I feel bad. ;;

But oh well! I'm home now, and I'll try to get some pictures from the last few days up as well.

London - Day 4

Today we headed over to Windsor Castle, which took up all of our day pretty much. That, and everyone got kinda cranky towards the end so we decided to go home. My mother tends to jut go ON AND ON AND ON without realizing how tired everyone else gets, so..yeah.

ANYWAY! I can't really go into much detail for this one, so pictures will have to do! Again, photography wasn't allowed inside, so the WALLS UPON WALLS of WEAPONS AND TAPESTRIES AND ART didn't get photographed...but oh well.

London - Day 3

asdfghl Sorry for the delay I totally just crashed last night 'cause it was so exhausting.

MY day started at 5:30 in the morning, when my brother woke up WIIIIDE awake and decided that everyone else needed to be up. I got out of bed at about 6:30 and we ended up getting breakfast at about 7:30 - 8 with another dude in our group he woke up. Ironically they're both named Jeremy. It gets complicated.

But after breakfast we all hung out waiting for my folks and the other group member to eat and get ready. Shortly after that we hopped on the tubes and headed over to London Bridge/Tower Bridge to go see the sights!

I'd never actually gone in when we went last time. I think they were closed down for some reason, or we just zoomed by. Either way, it was very pretty. I couldn't get pictures of a lot of things because photography wasn't allowed really indoors, so the Henry VIII exhibit and the crown jewels were sadly skipped over, but I did learn something: Henry VIII thought cod pieces were the shit and he NEEDED his to extend five inches past his armor. ...It was pretty crazy.

I tried to get mostly the architecture for these pictures, but unfortunately it was so packed there are always weird people in the way. =/ And I couldn't get any good pictures of the spiral staircases because it was so dark and the line was constantly moving...oh well! I still have pictures of the entrances, so you can see just how small they are. My mother is the one in purple, and she's 5'2".

After that, we headed over to Oxford Circus to do some shopping. I ended up not getting anything, but my brother bought a few things for his girlfriend. I'd like to go back on a day I'm not completely exhausted, because shopping after walking for five hours is...UGH. @___@ I was cryin' somehtin bad to sit down.

After shopping was dinner at a ribhouse because I NEEDED ribs, then we headed home while my brother went out drinking. I wanted to go with him, but I knew I'd regret it because I was so tired. @_@ I think I'll go with him tonight if he goes back, we'll just have to see.

Today we're going to Windsor castle. :D

London - Day 1 +2

'Ello, 'ello! My family (Mother, father, brother and I) are in London for a while!

We left for the airport at about noon on Thursday, everything went swimingly, including the flight over the Atlantic. Usually the flights are pretty heavy with screaming children, but it was dead silent this flight. It was rather nice. :3
We arrived about 7:30 in the morning on Friday into Gatwick. Took us two hours to get through customs, which is pretty typical, then we hopped on the Gatwick express to, essentially, Buckingham Palace. 8D

Our hotel is quite literally down the road from Buckingham. It's so nice! And we're about a 20 minute walk away from Westminster Abbey, the Eye and all that good stuff. We're a bit away from Windsor castle, but I believe tomorrow we are going to go there!

Today we watched the changing of the guard, and we walked around Westminster to enjoy the sights. 83

Random doodlies, including what D&D Calli wears.

I have no idea why he seems so angry with his apple, maybe he wanted a grapefruit..

Concept for a Geomancer Calli in our D&D group. Was going to turn this into a sculpture, but our class doesn't do sculptures, so...well, I still might, but it won't be anytime soon.

Another concept for the Geomancer. Still trying to find a way for doing the fur that I enjoy...will have to probably do a few more sketches later on.

Calli and the actual set in stone design for her brother, Atorlone (Who is now and forever going to be called 'Tory). Based on a roleplay with a buddy of mine, where 'Tory goes crazy with power, brainwashes/reprograms his sister and has her help bring along the edn of the world. ...Yeah, he's a dick. But he's a dick who can read minds.

Speedpaint dump!

YAY!

Quicky speedpaint thing to see how I felt about a quadroped Wildcard. She..looks like that girldog chimera from Full Metal Alchemist, and I'm still not sure how I feel about that. =/ I think I'm going to do a few more some day with some proper references to see if I still like it.

Dead helldog. Another speedpaint, this one the fastest I've done by far, at under 30 minutes. Inspired by a roleplay with my Oniichan where we killed my Helldog Hazard in a very violent manner. ...But he got better, I swear it.

90 minute speedpaint when James was over one day. Inspired by a song from Rhapsody of Fire. The angel is wearing a mask, for those who have no idea what's going on with the face. ...Not to mention the inaccuracies because I was on a roll and didn't check for any. >x>; I need to fix that...

About a 2 hour speedpaint. I wanted to try something...clouds-ish. I'm not good with scenery of any kind, and I figure I should at least TRY on this stuff. D8 As much as I don't like it.

Scratchboard of Calli. Took me maybe 2 hours. I just got my new scratchtools a few days ago, so I've actually gone over a few parts of this now. I think when I get a chance I'll add some color and update it, but we'll just see how that goes.

V-day inspired speedpaint that took me maybe 3 hours. I wasn't counting this time. But it's a Calli, looking a bit more full-figured than she normally does.

I admit, I wasn't happy when I scribbled this out, but I kind of like it now. *nod*

I've continued to art still. :) I have projects coming from all sides in school already, but I'm still trying to make some time every day for art that's just for me.

So hardcore, you'll leave with holes in your FAYCE.

I spent just four hours on this, shockingly. It was so much fun to do, because after awhile I just told myself to stop caring and have fun with the textures, so I did! I did have a couple crits regarding this piece, and I'm very happy about that. One told me I needed to be careful with the way I built my feline faces, because they might end up looking canine. Another mentioned the ear fuzz needed to look like fuzz, which I agree with...ears are usually one of my weak points. I'm pleased to finally have people looking objectively at my stuff. It's quite satisfying.

I'm doing better, see!

Another continuation in my card series, this time it's Razzo has the Jack of cards. I had a lot of trouble trying tofigure out how to make his outfit look, and what colors I should even go with. In the end, I had Code Geass to thank for both style and color. I admit it, Razzo has a Lelouch influence in his costume, and I am not in the least bit ashamed of it.

Jinti as the King of cards. His outfit was much easier than Razzo's, because I knew what I wanted and what colors I wanted to use. His outfit is a combination of the other three people's outfits so far. The last two cards I have left are teh Ace and red Joker. The ace is the only one who's not going to follow the style shown, for many obvious reasons. :3

A fog rolled into town a couple days ago, a really heavy one, and it made everyone feel a little stir crazy. To cure mine, I ended up smudging color around, playing with the settings, and repeating until I had this appear. It was a lot of fun, surprisingly, and I think I'll do something more later on.

An all ink drawing of a creature I created back my freshman year of highschool. I revived it for my Color Theory final, then liked it so much that I made another drawing and shaded it in ink.

Finished commission for Iet-brisingr on Deviantart, of her family characters plus Mikato. I had a lot of fun drawing this group.

This was from...back in March...ugh, I'm horrible.

Fun with mixed media. I had illustration board and wanted to give it a try. A bit of everything was used for this, save acrylic paint. I had a lot of fun with it though, even with all the mistakes.

A piece very dear to me, of Calli and a Cadejo Jinti (Goat dog). I tried a different coloring process for this one, and I ended up liking the outcome...though I don't think I'm ever going to be able to recreate it again. For a possibly one-time thing though...I love it.

HOlyshit, I don't know why I haven't gotten this program until just now. :O

I've finished just two things so far, both are similar in almost every way, but I'll show you both of them because I want you to see the difference between my "First" and "second" try in ArtRage. :3

The first image I drew. Just one of my typical "back butt shots" of random female kitty who contrasts in a weird eyebleeding way with the background. There were a lot of mistakes with this one, and when I named it that gave me the idea for the second image:

Image number two! Again, same concept, just executed differently. I like this one more, because it's one of those images that just worked you know? It came together exactly as my brain saw it, and because of that every few hours or so I'm opening this image to just gawk at it and tell myself "Wow, I drew THAT??" ..then I have to poke my temple with a needle to let some of the hot air out...

And that's all for now. :D I have one more image I'm working on, then that will probably be it for a while, or at least until I get my scanner up and running. =/ We shall see! *pose*

Cyber Ring

Or steampunk ring, whichever you wanna call it.

I finished it yesterday, and today I took it around for a test to see how well it handled. I ended up making a booboo and shoving my hand into my pocket with it on, but the ring actually held together very nicely. One gear came off, but it's been glued back on with a much stronger glue, so it should all stay very nicely. The entire thing is metal, save for one plastic gear that I painted a nice coppery bronze shade, and I tried to take special care to not let the glue show, but in some places that was nigh impossible, so I had to kind of just deal with what I got.

I really want to make more of these, maybe even sell them, but I would have NO idea what to charge for them. =/ They're not that impossible to make, just very, very tedius and time consuming. That, and the actual RING part I would have to actually buy/find, plus these gears are really fscking expensive. :/ We'll see what happens.

Out of curiosity, how much would you all be willing to pay for something like this?

I got 90 gears for a clock in the mail today. The largest is about half an inch, the smallest is MAAAAYBE a quarter of that size.

I'm making a ring out of some of them. :D! Pictures when I finish!

God I'm so excited. I have so much stuff I've gotten to do with my hands that doesn't involve a pencil. It's odd, but I really enjoy creating...THINGS. Drawing is always fun, but it's nice to do other things for a change.

I have a mouse I'm also working on, I'll get pictures for that as well when I get the chance.

Until then, I'm knee-deep in potential gears and I'm just being flooded with all kinds of awesome shtuff I could do with them. |3 I swear I'll get pictures of everything too, maybe later tonight or tomorrow, we'll see.

Spain - Thursday/Friday...take 2

Oops. Forgot my updates. I'm sorry, but we've been runing around EVERYWHERE for the last two days, and I am ltierally so exhausted that a proper update is not possible, I will try to summarize the best I can right now.

Yesterday we piled into the car, minus Bruce, Becky and their daughter, as they had left for home that mroning, and we headed to the town of Tarragona for a night. The town itself was built in around...oh 5 B.C....so we figured it would be interesting to see. I was kind of disappointed to see that the town was fairly modern, and that the roman ruins were actually preserved within parts of the city...well...actualyl I lied, that part was cool. The part I did not like was that everything started to look the same after about the fifth site we visited. Bleh.

But still, we did get a bunch of good pictures (Including me straddling a cannon. Teehee.) it was awesome because we could literally just climb over EVERYTHING and touch stuff and just generally explore. It was nice.

Now, however, we head for Amsterdam tomorrow, then on our way home. It'll be long and what not...but I'm so looking forward to it.

I'm going to sum up today with this picture we took of my brother from last night.

That boy sure likes his Sangria.

(Pssst...today we visited the Sagrada Familia and the aquarium, but our feet hurt so bad and we were so tired it felt like we were all hung over. I'm sorry for the bad update, but I really am tired. <3)
